AI Research Engineer Surrey, UK – Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote) IC Resources is seeking an AI Research Engineer to join our client’s dynamic team in Surrey. This is an opportunity to work on the R&D of AI models in Python and C++ for embedded devices that will be deployed commercially. The successful AI Research Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, optimising, and deploying innovative AI solutions and could come from an AI audio or computer vision industry background! Primary Responsibilities: Develop state-of-the-art AI models to improve audio quality on embedded devices. Take technical ownership of key project components, translating complex requirements into detailed designs. Collaborate effectively with the team to integrate AI models into existing systems, ensuring smooth functionality and quality standards are met. Essential Experience: Masters or PhD in Electronics, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Proven industry experience (at least 3+ years) in building, optimizing and deploying AI models on embedded devices, using NPUs or CPUs. Strengths in both Python and C++ Desired Experience: Contributions to open-source ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, TensorFlow Lite). Familiarity with knowledge distillation, computer vision, or federated learning algorithms.
