We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join an innovative technology company based in Oxfordshire, England.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the mechanical design and development of innovative hardware products using Solid Works.
  • Create high-quality 3D CAD models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings.

  • Design for manufacturability, reliability, performance, and cost.
  • Oversee prototype builds, testing, and mechanical validation, driving continuous product improvement.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure successful product transition into production.
  • Contribute to manufacturing readiness, procurement activities, and production scale-up.
  • Identify and implement design improvements that enhance product quality, performance, and manufacturability.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
  • At least five years of experience in mechanical product design and development.
  • Advanced Solid Works experience, with the ability to produce high-quality manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience in taking products from concept through to manufacture.
  • A strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and the integration of electronic components into mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience working with suppliers, manufacturing partners, and in production environments.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering team.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience developing industrial, consumer, or other electromechanical products.
  • Familiarity with PCB layout considerations and integrating electronics into mechanical designs.
  • Experience with rapid prototyping and low-volume production.
