Role Summary
- Lead design and build of Snowflake-based data platform for an insurance client
- Drive migration from SQL Farm / legacy data ecosystem
- Build hub-and-spoke enterprise data platform supporting multiple applications
- Work closely with business stakeholders + global delivery teams
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement Snowflake data platform architecture
- Design Medallion architecture (Bronze–Silver–Gold)
- Drive legacy to cloud migration strategy (SQL → Snowflake)
- Build scalable data ingestion, transformation & consumption layers
- Act as bridge between business and technology teams
- Run workshops with business users to gather requirements
- Lead onshore–offshore delivery teams
- Ensure governance, security, scalability, and cost optimisation
Must-Have Skills
- Strong experience in:
- Snowflake (architecture & implementation)
- Cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
- Data engineering / ETL / ELT frameworks
- Proven experience in:
- Medallion architecture
- Enterprise data platform / lakehouse design
- Migration from legacy SQL systems
- Strong understanding of:
- Data modelling
- Data governance & security
Domain Experience
- Mandatory: Insurance domain experience
- Highly preferred: Reinsurance domain exposure
Leadership & Communication
- Experience managing onshore–offshore teams
- Strong client-facing communication skills
- Ability to translate business needs into data platform solutions
- Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders
