About the School
Computing at Ibstock is an innovative subject that introduces pupils to current topics across IT, Digital Literacy and Computer Science. The curriculum encourages an application‑led approach and promotes diversity and inclusion.
Role Overview
The School is seeking a passionate and talented Teacher of Computing to report to the Head of Innovation. The successful candidate will support GCSE and A‑Level Computer Science, develop the recently established Innovation Hub, and lead extra‑curricular opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Teach GCSE Computer Science following the Edexcel curriculum and A‑Level Computer Science following the OCR curriculum.
- Develop and maintain the Innovation Hub, providing hands‑on activities in CAD machinery, robotics, web design, game design and Esports.
- Collaborate with the Head of Innovation to enhance the computing programme.
- Deliver lessons during school hours (08:00 – 16:00) and be available outside school hours as required by the role.
- Participate in a six‑month probationary period and pursue Qualified Teacher Status if not already qualified.
Qualifications
- Proficient Python programming skills to meet the GCSE curriculum.
- Experience or strong interest in CAD machinery, robotics, web design, game design or Esports is an advantage.
- Experience teaching or a willingness to undertake a structured training programme in partnership with the University of Buckingham.
- Strong commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
Contract Details
Start date: 1 September 2026. This is a permanent, full‑time role. Salary will be competitive based on skills and experience.
