To support our progress, we are currently recruiting for a Senior SHE Business Partner to come and join our team. You will need to be based in the Midlands for this role and it will involve regular travel around our factories.
Responsibilities
- Follow policies and procedures set by the Head of Function and ensure legal compliance.
- Provide timely, accurate SHE advice, support, and reporting for assigned areas.
- Conduct SH&E audits and share written recommendations with relevant managers.
- Hold regular meetings with operations teams to review site action plans per Ibstock plc SH&E Road map.
- Investigate all accidents, safety incidents, and occupational ill health cases using root cause analysis and recommend preventive measures.
- Serve as the main contact for regulatory bodies when necessary.
- Collaborate with engineers, managers, and contractors to maintain legal and company SHE standards for equipment and plant.
- Help managers develop risk assessments, safe operating procedures, and other required documents.
- Compile, analyze, and report accident and incident statistics monthly to the Head of Function.
- Assist in developing and delivering SHE training plans and core training.
- Advise and attend safety, health, or environmental committees as needed.
- Contribute to Group Health and Safety strategy development.
- Implement safety standards meeting regulations and industry best practice.
- Coach senior leaders to promote employee engagement, wellbeing, and performance through strong leadership and recognition.
- Support operational management and SH&E Business Partners on new SH&E initiatives and projects.
- Review accidents and incidents to identify improvement opportunities and implement campaigns.
- Support sustainable practices across sites.
- Provide cover during absences for the SHE Business Partners region.
- Manage SHE Business Partners to ensure daily tasks meet site expectations; conduct monthly 1-2-1s to track objectives and performance, aiming to build a high-performing team for Operations support.
- Act as the deputy for the Head of Function across all domains, including participation in Trade Association meetings, Senior Management meetings, Operations meetings, and other responsibilities as assigned.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- NEBOSH Certificate and membership of IOSH.
- Excellent communication skills including the delivery of training packages.
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
- Numerate and literate.
- An effective collaborator able to influence a wide cross section of people through passion and encouragement to stop and consider safer ways of working.
