We are currently recruiting for a Goods in and Despatch Coordinator to join our team at the Dewsbury factory. The role is part of a multi‑functional production/TPM team aiming to achieve key targets within the departmental environment, helping to deliver cost, quality and efficiency benefits to the Factory. Working hours are based on a 5 on 5 off, 4 on 4 off, 5 on 5 off shift system.
Responsibilities:
- Loading brick packs onto lorries using a 4, 6 & 8 pronged counterbalanced forklift truck
- Liaising with sales and customers
- Making up brick samples
- Working with Production to manage the blending and re‑packing of products
- Working to SSOPs with safe and precise working practices at all times
- General maintenance and housekeeping
- Lead a small team of loaders and manage contract labour
- High degree of health and safety and environmental awareness
- Help with month‑end stock taking
Qualifications:
- Valid counterbalanced forklift licence
- Reading, writing ability and basic numeric skills
- Basic computing skills
- Flexible and self‑motivated working attitude
- Good vision
- Ability to work as part of a team or on your own
- Good time‑keeping and attendance records
- Team‑working attitude and good communication skills
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience of a modern manufacturing environment in particular the loading of brick delivery lorries
- Knowledge of the Leicester brick range
- Understanding of the brick manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of the principles of TPM and Continuous Improvement
- Basic mechanical skills
Training & Development:
- Counterbalance forklift operation to company standards
- Product knowledge
- TPM tools & techniques inclusive of 5S principles
