Turner Property Recruitment are assisting their client in the search for a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join an established MEP team delivering high-quality building services design across a diverse project portfolio. This is a senior leadership role for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with strong technical expertise, the ability to lead projects, manage teams and build lasting client relationships. You will contribute to projects across sectors including residential, healthcare, education, commercial and regeneration schemes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design across projects, acting as the technical lead within multidisciplinary teams
  • Manage project delivery, ensuring technical quality, programme adherence and commercial performance
  • Oversee and review design outputs including calculations, drawings and specifications
  • Engage directly with clients to ensure requirements are understood and delivered
  • Carry out QA reviews to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards
  • Advise on energy efficiency, sustainability and carbon reduction
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors and wider project teams
  • Mentor and support junior engineers and apprentices

Requirements

  • Significant experience in mechanical building services design within consultancy or contractor environments
  • Strong technical knowledge across building services systems and design standards
  • Degree qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng)
  • Experience leading projects and managing teams
  • Proficient in design tools such as Revit, IES and Hevacomp
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills
