Our client is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join their team at Senior to Principal level, depending on experience and expertise across the criteria outlined below. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering high‑profile private infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on:
- Logistics developments (both speculative and for specific occupiers)
- Film studio developments
- Infrastructure associated with port operations
- Large enabling works projects, including major earthworks and plateau preparation
- Strategic advisory work related to land acquisition
Project values typically range from £5–10 million through to £20–40 million, with large‑scale schemes exceeding £100 million. Our client is involved from feasibility stage through to construction, with most projects delivered within a Design & Build (D&B) environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and delivery of private infrastructure schemes
- Drainage design and flood risk assessments
- Earthworks modelling and level design
- Working within D&B contract frameworks
- Client‑facing engagement and coordination
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years UK private sector experience
- Proven experience in the design of private infrastructure, ideally within the logistics sector
- Strong drainage design capability, with proficiency in MicroDrainage and/or Flow
- Experience in ground modelling, cut and fill analysis, and level design using Civil 3D (including feature lines)
- Competence in preparing Flood Risk Assessments (Zones 1–3)
- Experience in paving design, including external yard slabs to TR66 standards
- Familiarity with Design & Build contracts, including experience acting as a novated engineer
- Comfortable in client‑facing roles
Desirable Experience
- Highways design experience (advantageous but not essential)
- Ambition to move into multidisciplinary project management in the future
