A wellâestablished and designâled building services engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to support its continued growth across the UK. This role offers the opportunity to take a technical lead position on a range of highâprofile and technically challenging projects, working closely with associates, project teams and clients.
You will be responsible for leading the electrical building services design on projects from concept through to construction, providing technical direction and mentoring junior engineers.
Key responsibilities:- Leading the electrical design of building services systems, including power, lighting, fire alarms, data, security and lifeâsafety systems
- Producing and reviewing calculations, specifications, drawings and technical reports
- Coordinating with mechanical engineers, architects and external consultants
- Acting as a key technical point of contact for clients and project teams
- Attending design team and client meetings
- Managing and mentoring intermediate and junior engineers
- Ensuring designs meet UK regulations, standards and best practice
- Healthcare - hospitals, acute care and specialist facilities
- Commercial - offices, mixedâuse schemes and fitâout projects
- Residential - highâquality apartment and largeâscale residential developments
Projects range from complex refurbishments to large newâbuild schemes, offering excellent technical variety.
What youâll need to succeed:- Proven experience as a Senior or strong Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer within UK building services
- Excellent knowledge of UK standards, regulations and design processes
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services
- Competent with Amtech, Dialux/Relux and AutoCAD (Revit experience beneficial)
- Working toward or already Chartered (IEng or CEng)
- Confident communicator with leadership and mentoring capability
- ÂŁ50,000 - ÂŁ65,000 salary, depending on experience
- Hybrid working - 3 days office / 2 days home
- Clear progression to Principal or Associate level
- Exposure to flagship projects across multiple sectors
