A well‑established, multi‑disciplinary consultancy is continuing to grow its MEP division and is now seeking an ambitious Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join their expanding team. Your new role
You will play a key role within an experienced MEP team, delivering electrical building services design across a variety of projects including education, commercial, residential, blue‑light, and public sector schemes. Working through all RIBA stages, you'll produce detailed technical designs, calculations, and reports, while collaborating closely with internal teams, architects, and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Developing electrical designs (lighting, power, containment, LV distribution, fire alarms, etc.)
- Producing calculations, schematics, drawings, and technical documents
- Supporting senior engineers throughout project delivery
- Attending design meetings and contributing to coordinated MEP solutions
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Supporting BIM/Revit‑based design workflows
What you'll need to succeed
- 2-5 years' experience in electrical building services design
- Strong knowledge of BS7671, CIBSE guidelines, and relevant regulations
- Experience with design software such as Amtech, Dialux/Relux
- Ability to work across multiple project sectors
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
- Progression toward IEng/CEng is a strong advantage
