Your new company is a multi-award-winning Building Services Consultancy with offices across the UK, renowned for delivering innovative engineering solutions and developing some of the best talent in the industry. With an impressive portfolio spanning Commercial, Retail, Healthcare, Leisure and Education sectors, their Belfast team is expanding and seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to support continued growth. This organisation invests heavily in staff development and offers genuine long-term progression.
Your new role as a Mechanical Engineer will involve delivering high-quality design solutions from initial concept through to final implementation. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing mechanical design solutions and contributing to project strategy from early concept to completion
- Undertaking mechanical design calculations for major building projects
- Producing high-quality design drawings, schematics, diagrams, specifications and schedules
- Ensuring mechanical designs comply with British Standards, Building Regulations and all relevant industry guidance
- Embedding energy-efficient and low-carbon principles within all mechanical solutions
- Collaborating closely with clients, contractors and internal design teams to ensure project objectives are met
- Supporting less experienced engineers and contributing to a strong team environment
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, fully understanding project briefs and delivering to expectations
What you’ll need to succeed: You will already be operating at an intermediate level within a building services consultancy and be ready to take the next step in your career. You should have:
- A degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related field
- Progress toward chartership with IMechE or CIBSE (or a willingness to work toward it)
- Experience designing mechanical systems within commercial, education or healthcare sectors
- Proficiency with MEP Revit and familiarity with BIM workflows, with the ability to integrate models and collaborate with wider design teams
- Strong communication skills and the ability to operate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment
