Senior Sybase DBA - London
Location: London
Working Model: 5 days onsite
Contract: 6 months rolling
IR35: Inside IR35
We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Sybase DBA to join a business-critical technology environment in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior database specialist with strong hands-on experience supporting high-availability Sybase environments, ideally within banking or financial services.
Key Skills & Experience
- 10+ years' experience as a Sybase DBA
- Expert hands-on experience with Sybase ASE and Sybase IQ
- Strong Sybase Replication Server experience
- HA/DR, Warm Standby, MSA and Failover Clustering
- Performance tuning, query optimisation and database troubleshooting
- Backup, recovery, dump/load and restore
- Large-scale Sybase IQ/Data Warehouse environments
- Linux/Unix administration
- Shell, Perl and/or Python Scripting
- Database migrations, upgrades, modernisation and decommissioning
- Data centre/infrastructure migration experience
- Production support, incident management, RCA and SLA management
- Banking or Financial Services experience is highly desirable
