The Role
We're looking for a proactive Yard & Warehouse Operative to support the delivery of RGB's Supply Chain Services (SCS) proposition.
Working as part of our SCS operation, you'll ensure the safe, accurate and timely receipt, storage, picking and dispatch of materials supporting responsive repairs, planned maintenance, urgent requirements and special-product orders. You'll also support the service solutions within the SCS proposition, including managed stores, SmartStore and van-stock replenishment, helping customers access the materials they need efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Receive, check and accurately book in deliveries
✅ Pick, prepare and issue materials for collection, delivery and planned works
✅ Support SmartStore and van-stock replenishment activities
✅ Maintain high stock accuracy through stock checks and cycle counts
✅ Identify and report stock shortages, damages and discrepancies
✅ Support sourcing and fulfilment of special-product requirements
✅ Deliver excellent service to customer operatives, supervisors and approved users
✅ Help drive adoption of the agreed Supply Chain Services proposition
✅ Maintain safe, clean and secure warehouse, yard and collection areas
✅ Comply with all health, safety and security procedures
What We're Looking For
✔ Experience within a warehouse, yard, builders' merchant, logistics or stock-handling environment
✔ Good understanding of stock control and materials handling
✔ Ability to safely handle building, plumbing and electrical materials
✔ Strong customer service and teamwork skills
✔ Experience using stock control, handheld or warehouse systems
✔ Forklift licence desirable (training available)
