With a commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service, we are part of the Independent Builders Merchant Group (IBMG), the largest independent merchant group in the South of England. We are expanding our Sales team at our Reading Branch and are looking for a dependable Internal Sales Assistant to help us continue delivering excellent service to our trade and retail customers.
The Role: Join our team at Grant & Stone as an Internal Sales Assistant, where you will play a vital role in supporting our sales operations. As a key member of our team, you will assist in providing exceptional customer service and contribute to the growth of our business. This position is based in Reading and offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a passion for sales and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Engage with customers both in-person and over the phone to address sales inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Work collaboratively with the sales team to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Maintain a deep understanding of our product offerings to provide accurate information and recommendations to customers.
- Assist in restocking inventory, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring the sales floor is organized.
- Build and nurture relationships with customers to foster loyalty and repeat business.
- Operate computer-based sales systems efficiently; training will be provided as needed.
- Support other branch activities as required, such as stock control and yard assistance.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role, ideally within a retail or sales environment.
- Preferably with Buildings merchant sales experience.
- Strong communication skills with a friendly and customer-focused demeanour.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment to achieve common goals.
- Familiarity with sales processes and comfortable handling telephone inquiries.
- Basic computer proficiency: training will be provided for specific systems.
- Proactive attitude towards achieving sales targets and delivering excellent service.

- Week 1: Monday to Friday 07:30 - 17:15
