Customer service is at the heart of everything we do, combining roofing expertise with the strength and support of the Independent Builders Merchants Group (IBMG). We're growing our team at Scrubs Lane, London and are looking for a reliable Trade Counter Sales Assistant / Yard Operative to become an integral part of our busy branch team.
The Role
As a Trade Counter Sales Assistant / Yard Operative, you'll work across both the trade counter and yard, helping to deliver excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the branch.
Responsibilities
- Assisting customers face-to-face, over the telephone, and in the yard
- Processing sales enquiries and orders accurately
- Building strong relationships with trade and retail customers
- Supporting branch sales growth and helping exceed targets
- Providing a fast, friendly, and efficient customer experience
- Assisting with stock control and replenishment
- Supporting other branch operations as required
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised working environment
What We're Looking For
- Building products knowledge or builders' merchant experience (preferred)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to build and maintain customer relationships
- Comfortable using computer-based sales systems (full training provided)
- Professional and confident telephone manner
- Friendly, articulate, and customer-focused approach
- Proactive attitude towards sales and business growth
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Working Hours
Week 1: Monday to Friday 6:30am - 3:30pm
Week 2: Monday to Friday 6:30am - 3:30pm, Saturday 7:00am - 11:00am
