We're growing our team at Scrubs Lane, London and are looking for a reliable Trade Counter Sales Assistant / Yard Operative to become an integral part of our busy branch team.

The Role

As a Trade Counter Sales Assistant / Yard Operative, you'll work across both the trade counter and yard, helping to deliver excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the branch.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting customers face-to-face, over the telephone, and in the yard
  • Processing sales enquiries and orders accurately
  • Building strong relationships with trade and retail customers
  • Supporting branch sales growth and helping exceed targets
  • Providing a fast, friendly, and efficient customer experience
  • Assisting with stock control and replenishment
  • Supporting other branch operations as required
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised working environment

What We're Looking For

  • Building products knowledge or builders' merchant experience (preferred)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to build and maintain customer relationships
  • Comfortable using computer-based sales systems (full training provided)
  • Professional and confident telephone manner
  • Friendly, articulate, and customer-focused approach
  • Proactive attitude towards sales and business growth
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Working Hours

Week 1: Monday to Friday 6:30am - 3:30pm

Week 2: Monday to Friday 6:30am - 3:30pm, Saturday 7:00am - 11:00am
