Due to continued growth, we’re looking for a Sales Assistant to join our busy Parkers Building Supplies Hassocks.
The Role
As a Sales Assistant, you’ll be the first point of contact for trade and retail customers. Working in a fast‑paced builders’ merchant environment, you’ll provide product advice, process sales, and help deliver a consistently high level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in branch and over the phone
- Provide accurate advice on products, pricing, and stock availability
- Process orders, quotations, returns, and payments (EPOS)
- Maintain a clean and well‑presented trade counter
- Support stock control within the sales area
- Build strong customer relationships and encourage repeat business
- Liaise with yard and warehouse teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment
Requirements
- Experience in a builders’ merchant, trade counter, or retail role (preferred)
- Knowledge of building materials or construction products (desirable)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Proactive, reliable, and team‑focused
- Able to work well in a busy environment
Working Hours
Week 1: Monday to Friday: 07:00 – 17:00
Week 2: Monday to Friday: 07:00 – 17:00; Saturday: 08:00 – 12:00
