Hours: Full-time, permanent — Monday to Friday 07:30–17:00, with Saturday 08:00–12:00 on alternate weeks

Sussex Plumbing Supplies is an independent merchant with the buying muscle of IBMG behind it. Our branches run on strong stock, sharp service and counter teams the trade actually trust. We look after our customers, and we look after our own — most of our managers came up through the ranks.
The role
As a Sales Assistant, you'll be at the heart of the branch, serving trade and retail customers both in person and over the phone. You'll help customers with product advice, pricing and stock availability, process orders, quotations, payments and returns, and support them with finding the right products and solutions. You'll also keep the trade counter clean, safe and professional, assist with stock control and order fulfilment, and build strong relationships that keep customers coming back.
What you'll bring
- ▸Previous experience in a builders' merchant, trade counter, sales or retail environment would be an advantage
- ▸An interest in plumbing, building materials or the wider construction sector
- ▸Strong communication skills and a natural approach to customer service
- ▸Good computer skills and confidence using sales systems
- ▸A positive attitude, willingness to learn and the ability to work well in a busy team
- ▸Enthusiasm to develop your product knowledge — full product training will be provided
