Your Role And Responsibilities
We are seeking a seasoned UX Designer with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing digital products and services for public sector organizations or government agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the user-centered design process from ideation to implementation, ensuring all design solutions meet the specific needs and challenges of public sector projects.
  • Develop deep empathy for users through research and user testing, creating personas, user journey maps, and prototypes to inform design decisions.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, developers, and stakeholders to translate complex information into intuitive, accessible interfaces.
  • Advocate for evidence-based design decisions, using data and user insights to support your work and influence strategy.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and evolution of our digital services, staying abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in UX design.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.1) and are compliant with relevant public sector standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to plan and execute usability testing to validate design decisions and ensure ongoing service improvement.

Master\’s Degree

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

  • Bachelor\’s degree in User Experience Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field. A Master\’s degree would be an asset.
  • At least 4 years of professional experience as a UX Designer, with a proven track record in the public sector or a government agency (GDS).
  • Proficiency in UX design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, InVision, and prototyping tools.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies, including but not limited to, user research, information architecture, interaction design, and visual design.
  • Demonstrated ability to create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that effectively communicate design intent.
  • Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and iterative design.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of government digital service standards and accessibility guidelines is preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
