The Canada Cross Communications Professional is responsible for working with a team of professionals to focus on building IBM’s reputation and voice across Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing external communications strategies, executing campaigns and driving conversations with key internal and external stakeholders including media, influencers, subject matter experts, business executives and more. They will play a key role in driving awareness of IBM’s strategic priorities that support business growth while reinforcing our leadership in Canada’s tech industry. This role plays a critical part in shaping IBM's public image, and fostering positive relationships with stakeholders across Canada.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience (6-8 years) in external communications, preferably within a large, public, matrixed global organization.
- Network of contacts in national and trade publications.
- A nose for news.
- Demonstrated success in finding, developing and launching great stories.
- Ability to take a data-driven approach to communications, working with colleagues to strategically analyze impact and pivot as necessary.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Creative thinker who innovates and can develop new and effective means of communicating.
