Location: Hampshire, London, Manchester, Leicester

Work arrangement: Hybrid (up to 80% or 4 days a week; home on weekends based on project requirements)

Role Overview:

You will work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centres, delivering deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients. Focused on the design, development, and delivery of secure, scalable Salesforce solutions, you will lead the development of custom components, integrations and configurations while ensuring alignment with public‑sector standards and project requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop advanced Salesforce solutions to meet defined business and technical requirements
  • Configure and customise Salesforce to support public‑sector processes and service needs
  • Build and maintain integrations between Salesforce and other systems
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring and support to junior developers
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring reliable and secure system performance
  • Work closely with senior developers, architects and project teams to deliver work on time and within scope
  • Stay informed about new Salesforce features, platform updates and best practices to support continuous improvement

Qualifications:

  • Required education: None
  • Preferred education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Extensive experience working with Salesforce, strong focus on Apex, Visualforce and Lightning Components
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, including data models, workflows and business processes
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Java, Apex and SOQL
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, with the ability to analyse complex data and systems
  • Experience with Salesforce configuration, including setup, customisation and integration
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and project management
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to debug and troubleshoot complex technical issues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with customers and internal teams

Security & Screening:

This role is subject to pre‑employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). Additional Personal Security Controls (National Security Vetting – NVS) may apply, potentially requiring The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
