The IBM CEO & Corporate Events team designs and delivers best-in-class, high-touch, bespoke events and experiences for the IBM CEO, the executive leadership team, board directors, employees, clients, investors and other key stakeholders to enhance IBM’s narrative and brand, to drive growth and to deliver value through world‑class event execution. The IBM CEO & Corporate Events team members are savvy relationship builders who have deep expertise in event planning and execution, project and financial management, logistics, production and business program development.
The Corporate Events Specialist will play a critical role on the team, partnering with colleagues, stakeholders and agencies to deliver outstanding events. The ideal candidate for this role will be passionate about events, logistics and creating world‑class attendee experiences on behalf of the IBM CEO and senior leaders that deliver measurable impact.
CEO & Corporate Events Specialist Responsibilities:- Executing and delivering world‑class IBM events.
- Collaborating with CEO & Corporate Event team colleagues, internal IBM teams and agency partners to design, plan and execute world‑class and bespoke attendee experiences based on stakeholder input and event mission.
- Owning, executing and delivering on multiple event program elements, including logistics, program schedule and design, experiential elements, attendee data tools, venue management, contracting, agency management, etc.
- Understanding, applying and executing marketing tools and process, procurement and financial management processes and budgeting.
- Focusing on individual, team, and larger organization objectives, working independently and delivering on event and team projects, including leading small IBM matrixed teams, agencies and various operational activities.
- Staying current on event industry trends, best practices and new thinking in event execution and the role of AI.
- Acting as an event advocate and driving to enhance and maximize attendee experiences.
Bachelor's Degree
Required Technical And Professional Expertise:- 5+ years of experience planning and executing a wide range of events
- High energy, independent worker, self‑starter, resourceful, and problem‑solver
- Responsible team player demonstrating ownership and accountability
- Strong project management and organizational skills, including attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work independently under pressure, managing resources and several projects simultaneously
- Avid learner who consistently expands knowledge to gain new skills and expertise
- Proactive listener that can use expertise to predict needs and prevent issues
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with event and/or marketing platforms including Rainfocus, CVENT, Airtable, event apps, AI agents
- Flexibility to travel
