You will collaborate closely with development, architecture, security, and SRE teams to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable platforms for modern applications. This role is open to engineers across mid‑level to senior/principal experience, with responsibilities scaling accordingly.

  • Deploy and maintain infrastructure in multi‑cloud and hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud, Red Hat).
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible, and cloud‑native IaC tools.
  • Implement HA/DR strategies, load balancing, and hybrid networking solutions.
  • Integrate monitoring, SLOs, and quality gates into CI/CD pipelines for resilient delivery.
  • Administer Red Hat OpenShift clusters and support migrations onto container platforms.
  • Work with architects and developers to improve platform automation, performance, and security.
  • Depending on seniority, lead technical decisions, guide DevOps practices, and mentor engineers.

    • Docker and CRI‑O runtime experience
    • OpenShift administration and migration support
  • Cloud & Hybrid Platforms
    • Experience with at least one major cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and familiarity with others
    • Hybrid/on‑prem environments and legacy modernisation projects
    • VPC/VNet design, IAM/identity management, hybrid connectivity
  • Infrastructure as Code & Automation
    • Terraform and/or Ansible for platform automation
    • CloudFormation, ARM or other cloud IaC tooling

  • Observability & Reliability
    • Monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor)
    • HA/DR patterns, load balancing, and resilience engineering
    • Understanding of SRE and GitOps practices
  • Security & Compliance
    • Platform security, configuration hardening, secrets governance, identity tooling
    • Integrating security controls into pipelines (shift‑left/shift‑right)

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

  • A broad foundation across multiple domains such as systems administration, networking, security, or databases.
  • Experience supporting production platforms (on‑call, incident response, root‑cause analysis).
  • Hands‑on automation of security or compliance workflows (vulnerability remediation, scanning, policy‑as‑code).
  • Experience bridging traditional infrastructure with cloud‑native and container platforms.
  • Comfort collaborating across architecture, development, operations, and security.

This role is subject to pre‑employment screening in line with the UK Government's Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).
