Your Role And Responsibilities
As a Quality Engineer with expertise in Automation, you will streamline testing processes through automation, ensuring efficient and reliable software delivery. You will have specialist skills in creating and maintaining automated testing solutions for IT systems and applications. You will possess in‑depth knowledge of various test automation tools and technologies and use them to build optimised test scenarios, develop automation for executing tests, and manage test data and environment‑related automation. This role requires understanding and integrating testing automation into overall delivery automation, aligning with contemporary trends such as Agile, DevOps, and Containers. In summary,
Key Responsibilities
- Building automated tests using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Katalon, Cucumber, etc.
- Design and create test data and test environments
- Create and maintain test plans based on software requirements.
- Perform manual and automated tests to identify bugs, defects or issues.
- Write test cases and scripts, identify errors and validate successes for any software solution.
- Identify, understand and document all errors and operational characteristics that are inconsistent with stated requirements and design specification goals for the given programme, application or set of applications.
- Present test results to clients and project teams clearly.
- Log, track and report defects using issue‑tracking tools ensuring clear communication with developers.
- Validate fixes: re‑test software after bug fixes to verify successful resolution and ensure no regression.
- Ensure the software meets quality standards and functional requirements before release.
Preferred Education
Bachelor’s Degree
Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- Proficiency in test automation frameworks (e.g. Selenium WebDriver, Appium, TestComplete) and tools.
- Experience in creating reusable, maintainable and scalable test automation solutions.
- Strong proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g. Java, C#, Python, JavaScript).
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g. Bash, PowerShell) for automation and orchestration.
- Ability to design, develop and maintain automated test cases including unit, integration and end‑to‑end tests.
- Experience in implementing test automation best practices including modularity, reusability and maintainability.
- Proficiency in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI).
- Experience in automating testing code quality and release.
- Highly experienced in multiple test automation tools and technologies and use these to build and maintain automation solutions to test applications and IT systems across testing levels.
- Understanding of contemporary technology trends such as Agile, DevOps, Containers and the ability to integrate testing automation into overall delivery automation.
- Collaboration with cross‑functional team members to implement test automation best practices.
