Introduction

As an associate partner within the retail industry go to market team you will be a key member of an expanding retail consulting and delivery business. You role will be to grow our retail SAP/ERP business: developing and winning new projects and accounts as part of collaborative business development team. You will use your experience of retail SAP/ERP projects to guide clients in their transformation journey as the build new ERP based capabilities and infuse AI into their business processes. You will be responsible for the shaping, sale and overall delivery, including financial management, of these projects.

Your role and responsibilities

You will be an associate partner within the retail industry go to market team responsible for:

  • Business development within existing and new retail clients, with a focus on retail ERP, in particular SAP.

  • Delivery leadership for large scale retail ERP and related technology programmes.

  • Account management of a retail client or client(s) as part of an account management team, responsible for supporting the development and execution of account plans, stakeholder management and delivery governance.

  • Leadership and direction of programme delivery teams, with financial management of delivery contracts.

  • Support in development and execution of retail practice business plans and strategy

  • Line management of individuals within the broader retail practice

Required technical and professional expertise

  • A strong track record of successful project/programme delivery, particularly of SAP projects (preferably in Retail). Experience of overseeing or a lead role in the execution of projects, completed on time, within budget, and aligned with client objectives.

  • Client Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients is crucial for consulting partners, ensuring their needs are met and fostering trust.

  • Network: The right candidate will bring a retail network of established client and partner relationships in order to drive business development, identifying new business opportunities and contributing to the growth of the Retail Cluster at IBM

  • Team Leadership and Mentoring: Confident in leading and mentoring teams of consultants, providing guidance, fostering professional development, and ensuring project deliverables are met.

  • Strong Commercial Acumen: Associate Partners are accountable for the financial performance of their engagements, including pricing, budgeting, and profitability.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensuring that all work delivered meets the highest quality standards, often involving reviews, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Industry and Technical Expertise: Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and technological advancements relevant to Retail clients. Feeding into the overarching Retail strategy.

  • Experience of the application of artificial intelligence within the context of a retail business
