As someone who is genuinely passionate about shaping our client’s future, you make use of your strong understanding of Digital Engineering technology, the client’s business needs and their culture to articulate end-to-end technology, process, business capability, and cultural roadmaps. You are the type of individual who cultivates trusted relationships with the client and partners to contribute to an environment that unites people and technology to solve real client problems and bridge the gap between strategy and execution.
You will be responsible for engaging with clients, understanding their current process landscape and aiding them on their transformation journey by collaboratively creating business process models, process analysis, technology-enabled process improvement/redesign, requirements definition and data modelling, to influence the functional design so that it satisfies the real business needs. You will facilitate workshops to uncover current state pain points, improvements and rationalisations. Also, work closely with architects, delivery teams, the client, and partners to design future state solutions. You will also contribute to Capability modelling as well as make use of Process Modelling (including Process reengineering) and User Stories to articulate the benefits and value of what is being developed/deployed.
You can perform rapid analysis and decomposition of complex business information into functional and non-functional requirements and articulate them in the context of the solution and business process. You are capable of creating an inventory of customer process pain points, gaps, improvements and articulating these in the context of the solution delivery. Working alongside our talented and widely experienced consultants, you’ll have the opportunity to determine innovative solutions which overcome complex business challenges. Daily, you’ll transform Digital Engineering’s performance and deliver real business improvements for our clients. Whether it’s strategy and transformation or implementation programmes, your advice will help our clients to operate more efficiently and effectively. What’s more, you’ll be pivotal in helping to drive forward some of the most exciting products currently in development in the UK.
Your role and responsibilities:
- Collaborating with clients, architects and delivery teams to determine business-specific application needs.
- Lead workshops and facilitate real requirements articulation.
- Able to articulate business need to the technical teams, and the technical solutions to the business/client teams to ensure business value is realised.
- Demonstrating application prototypes and integrating user feedback.
- Identifying application integration requirements, maintenance needs, upgrades, and data migration.
- Support the Project Manager to meet business needs, governance approvals and delivery timescales.
- Building business processes models, procedures, and standards.
- Creating traceability models between Requirements, Process, Technical Solutions, Delivery Roadmaps, Test and Training.
- Integrating trends in application architecture in application development projects.
Required technical and professional expertise:
- The ideal candidate will be employed in a major engineering organisation or in a leading consulting or digital technology firm. Our preference is that they will have experience of operating in similar roles within the sector.
- Knowledge of Engineering and/or Manufacturing business processes and domains.
- Knowledge of PLM applications (such as Teamcenter or 3DEXPERIENCE).
- Strong consulting skills gained within a professional consulting group or working in industry.
- Strong facilitation skills across multiple disciplines and hierarchy.
- Experience working in and contributing to successful client projects.
- A high level of personal belief and passion for the client’s success.
- Build and manage trusted relationships with client stakeholders at all levels so IBM is viewed as a preferred provider of consulting services.
- Proven ability to build new and maintain existing professional networks.
- Establish and improve your skills and personal eminence in the market.
- Continually develop expertise and knowledge of client issues based on accumulated experience.
- Take ownership of client pain points and facilitate them into solutions.
- Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Be able to create required governance artifacts to pass client ‘gates’/milestones.
Preferred technical and professional experience:
- Strong consulting skills gained within a professional consulting group or working in industry.
- Engineering or Industrial background is preferable.
- PLM skills and experience. Ideally experience in delivering Siemens Teamcenter, 3DEXPERIENCE, Windchill or equivalent is desired.
- Applied skills in Business Process Modelling and Architecture aligned to APQC or similar.
- Applied skills in Use Case Modelling (UML, SysML) and/or User Story definition.
- Contribute to capability models that allow relationships to Process Classification Frameworks enabling prioritisation and value to be understood.
- Communicate articulately and effectively, with appropriate level of detail but retaining key messages, at all levels of business.
- Strong Business Analysis Skills (uniting Requirements, Process, Tech Solutions, Cultural Change).
- Ability to think creatively and strategically with a focus to achieving outcomes.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate, partner and collaborate across functions, geographies, and hierarchy.
- Knowledge of enterprise Architecture Principles like Zachman or TOGAF is desirable.
