This is a dynamic, multi‑tasking role with flexible hours (any given shift within the week). You will be working across the kitchen, restaurant, bar, and conference rooms at a busy IBIS hotel. Your day may involve cooking, washing dishes, serving guests at the bar or restaurant, or assisting with the setup of conference rooms. The position is fast‑paced, requiring adaptability and the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and present menu items, showing variety and flair while staying within the cost margins specified by the hotel.
- Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage, implementing and maintaining stock control procedures.
- Work with and coordinate apprentices in the preparation and production of food as required.
- Prepare and ensure availability of mise en place as required.
- Maintain clean and tidy working areas; keep all equipment maintained, serviced, and cleaned.
- Report any problems to Management.
- Take orders and maximise sales opportunities through product knowledge and suggestive selling; ensure accuracy by repeating the order to guests.
- Send orders to kitchen staff through the POS system.
- Deliver orders promptly to the kitchen production area.
- Check ordered meals upon collection from kitchen and deliver to guests promptly, maintaining temperature and appearance, and ensuring items are announced.
- Keep tables and service areas clean and tidy in accordance with the procedure manual.
- Maintain hygienic food‑service techniques during service.
- Take responsibility for your designated section and station.
- Clean and rearrange the conference rooms for upcoming events.
- Health call the Manager on Duty if difficulties arise.
- Work together with trust so that colleagues and management meet departmental and hotel goals.
- Treat customers and colleagues from all cultural groups with respect, sensitivity and transparency.
- Actively sell special promotions and facilities available within the Hotel.
- Implement Accor values and customer vision to offer the best service to our customers.
Qualifications
- Basic customer‑service skills.
