The Assistant Sales Manager supports the Director of Sales in promoting the hotel and achieving sales targets. The role involves assisting in client acquisition, maintaining relationships, and contributing to the execution of the hotel's sales strategy.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Director of Sales in promoting the hotel and chain properties within the assigned area/region.
- Support in achieving hotel budget targets and individual KPIs, including room nights, meeting room targets, ADR, and occupancy.
- Assist in identifying, visiting, and maintaining relationships with potential, existing, and former clients.
- Help anticipate business volume by monitoring hotel occupancy, local events, holidays, and other influencing factors.
- Maintain accurate client and company information in the PMS and provide follow-up on guest requests or complaints.
- Support rate negotiations and contract preparation under the guidance of the Sales Manager.
- Assist in preparing sales reports, market updates, and competitor analysis.
- Support the training and onboarding of new sales team members.
- Contribute to the execution of the hotel's sales strategy and help maximize revenue opportunities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales.
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of demonstrable sales experience in an equivalent capacity is required.
- Proven track record in relationship building and business development, including proficiency in prospecting, networking, conducting site inspections, and executing sales calls.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to stay current with industry trends and disseminate critical information to all relevant personnel.
- Exceptional organizational acumen, with a proven capacity to prioritize and manage multiple high-priority tasks concurrently.
