We are partnering with a leading UK financial services organisation to recruit a Principal Cyber Security Specialist. This is a key role within their security function, focusing on architecting and implementing security automation, platform engineering, and Zero Trust principles across their cloud and on-premise environments. You will work closely with security engineering, threat intelligence, Cloud, and DevOps teams to design, build, and optimise security tooling, ensuring robust and scalable security operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Mentor and provide technical escalation support to security team members.
- Conduct security design reviews and apply security principles across high and low-level designs.
- Engineer and maintain cloud-native security solutions in Azure and AWS (GCP desirable).
- Develop Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
- Build and maintain security integrations between SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, and case management systems.
- Embed security into CI/CD pipelines and support secure SDLC practices, including container and application security.
- Enhance log ingestion, correlation, and alerting workflows across multiple data sources.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years in Security Engineering, Security Automation, or DevSecOps.
- Strong experience with security tooling, automation, and cloud security in Azure/AWS.
- Hands-on with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible) and securing CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel, Rapid7 IDR).
- Experience with container security (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architectures.
- Familiarity with threat intelligence platforms and their integration into security operations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
