We’re working with a large organisation undergoing significant cyber and digital transformation to hire a Cyber Security Architect focused on Enterprise Architecture. This role sits within a dedicated Security Architecture function and is specifically aligned to securing enterprise IT systems and business applications. The focus is on designing and assuring cyber security controls across complex enterprise environments, ensuring business resilience, regulatory alignment, and risk mitigation from the outset. This is not an enterprise architecture role — it is centred on enterprise networks, cloud/hybrid infrastructures, and identity/access management.

What you’ll do

  • Define and implement security architecture principles across enterprise IT environments.
  • Embed secure-by-design controls into business applications, cloud platforms, and enterprise systems.
  • Lead design assurance across network segmentation, zero-trust architectures, and secure cloud DMZ models.
  • Identify architectural gaps within existing enterprise estates and define pragmatic remediation roadmaps.
  • Align enterprise security architecture to recognised frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects, business stakeholders, and cyber teams to balance availability, compliance, and security.
  • Provide architectural guidance across cloud migration and digital transformation programmes.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience securing enterprise IT environments or complex business systems.
  • Strong understanding of hybrid/cloud convergence and securing legacy or brownfield enterprise landscapes.
  • Knowledge of recognised enterprise security standards such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and zero-trust principles.
  • Experience designing secure segmentation models (zero-trust, micro-segmentation), next-gen firewalls, and secure remote access solutions.
  • Familiarity with enterprise protocols and technologies such as SAML/OAuth, API security, and associated risks in cloud-native environments.
  • Experience operating in regulated, business-critical, or high-availability enterprise settings.
  • Ability to translate technical risk into clear architectural decisions for engineering and business audiences.

We welcome candidates from any industry with relevant enterprise architecture or infrastructure architecture experience — energy, utilities, manufacturing, transport, defence, or other industrial sectors.

What’s on offer

  • 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, flexible leave options, and family-friendly policies.
  • Generous employer pension contribution up to 13.5% and employee health assistance programme.
  • Maternity, paternity, adoption, and parental leave, as well as flexible working and career breaks.
  • Employee Assistance Programme including helpline, coaching access, wellbeing app, digital GP service, and more.

This is a strategic, high-impact role focused on securing enterprise systems that underpin critical business functions. This is a permanent position based in the North West of England. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship and have been resident in the UK for the last 5 years without more than 6 months living overseas.
