Our Strategic Portfolio Directorate is at the heart of this transformation - driving the development and delivery of a £4 billion portfolio of critical Transmission reinforcement projects. This work is vital to achieving the UK’s energy transition goals.
We’re now looking for a highly organised, proactive and relationship-focused Strategic Portfolio Assistant to support our Director and Leadership Team. What You’ll Be Doing
- Executive & Business Support
- Manage complex and ever-changing diaries, using sound judgement to prioritise effectively
- Oversee inbox management, including triaging, drafting responses, and coordinating approvals (e.g. SAP workflows, travel, fees)
- Produce high-quality presentations, reports and briefing materials
- Coordinate UK and international travel arrangements
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Leadership, Governance & Events
- Coordinate Leadership Team meetings and Senior Steering Committees, including agenda planning, papers, minutes, and action tracking
- Maintain governance logs, action trackers, and portfolio review schedules
- Support preparation for senior stakeholder meetings, site visits, and engagements
- Lead the organisation of large-scale events, webinars and conferences (up to 200 attendees)
- Support supply chain engagement events
- Portfolio Operations & People Support
- Support performance tracking, objectives management, and budget activities across the directorate
- Keep day-to-day operations running smoothly through proactive coordination and process improvement
- Support recruitment activity, onboarding, and resource planning in collaboration with People & Organisation teams
- Maintain organisational charts, SharePoint content, and internal communications
- Coordinate portfolio-wide training plans for a team of ~200 colleagues
- Stakeholder & Relationship Management
- Act as a trusted point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
- Build strong relationships across SP Energy Networks and partner organisations
- Help coordinate teams and influence colleagues to meet key deadlines and strategic milestones
What You’ll Bring

- Experience within large-scale project or portfolio environments
- Experience organising large events or multi-stakeholder sessions
