They will play a crucial role supporting the delivery of business objectives through the delivery of land rights for and the delivery of large-scale, 10-year investment strategy more than £350m across the ScottishPower estate.
The increased volume of delivery and projects requires specialised focus on how we identify, manage and mitigate risk to meet business objectives. The Senior Risk Analyst, reporting to the Governance Manager, will focus on developing our Enterprise Risk Management framework across our key programmes within the department.
This role will work closely with other PMO resources and Operational Teams to ensure risk assessment and analysis has been completed against strategic delivery and is managed accordingly to deliver upon strategic objectives.
What you'll be doing
- Implementation and lead on enterprise risk management framework across department, encompassing all major programmes of strategic delivery
- Identifying, assessing, and managing potential threats to the organization's operations, finances, and reputation
- Conducting risk assessments against key processes and deliverables to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities in delivery and output
- Performing quantitative and qualitative analysis to evaluate the likelihood and potential impact of identified risks. This includes running stress tests and developing risk models
- Creating and recommending plans and procedures to control or reduce risk, which can involve implementing internal controls or developing contingency plans (in conjunction with existing audit and business continuity frameworks)
- Continuously monitoring the GSUK's risk exposure vs strategic delivery, tracking key risk indicators (KRIs), and preparing detailed reports and presentations for management and stakeholders to inform decision-making
- Staying current with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, and ensuring the organisation's risk management framework adheres to these requirements to avoid legal or reputational issues
What you'll bring
- Strong analytical skills, with experience within a business reporting or risk role
- Strong communication skills, being able to clearly align everyone on significant risks and impact to our strategic delivery, with experience of managing and influencing external and internal stakeholders and working cross-functionally
- Good problem-solving skills to support the design and implementation of enterprise risk management framework
- Able to demonstrate understanding of ScottishPower, the role General Services play and how different internal and external factors can create risk
- Strong negotiation and diplomacy skills
- Comfortable and confident working with numbers, risk estimates and probabilities.
- Ability to coach and mentor the wider teams in the correct protocols for managing risk
- Ability to implement change successfully in a complex business
- Good working knowledge of MS Office suite (Project, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI)
- Awareness of construction projects and requirements to deliver highly advantageous
Minimum Criteria
- Bachelor's Degree required, preferably with a finance or business foundation
- Statistical/risk reporting experience preferred
- Previous experience in risk role required, with track record of working with/implementing enterprise risk management framework
- Strong communication skills
