What you'll be doing

  • As the Senior Engineer of an operational telecoms function your primary goal is to take a proactive approach to the status of projects tracking and managing milestones against time, cost and quality.
  • Stakeholder management and communication are key.
  • Operating from Scotland you will play a critical role in the successful reporting of projects from inception through to completion for both regulatory and customer projects.
  • Promotes an exemplary safety culture and ensures that all safety legislation is implemented and delivered through all activities.
  • Analyse and coordinate programmes and balanced workbooks to enable effective delivery within each licence area whilst driving optimised value from the regulatory contract.
  • Develop licence area business plan outputs in line with CI / CML regulatory and business plan objectives whilst optimising return through incentive mechanisms.
  • Develop and maintain robust stakeholder and customer relationships on behalf of Scottish Power to facilitate delivery of customer and stakeholder strategic objectives.
  • Where milestone completion is at risk of not achieving the commitment dates, escape this with the appropriate partner management chain to prevent missing the Milestone or reduce the impact of missing the milestone.
  • To drive continual performance improvement through analysis of outputs and feedback from internal and external sources.
  • Act as a point of contact for the customer during in-life projects and interface with Delivery teams to aid and guide.
  • Interrogate micro data and present insightful value add Exec. Level data to a senior audience.
  • Proactively identify areas for process improvement and implement enhancements to optimise the front door process and prevent workaround channels for change / project requests.
  • Bring a can-do attitude to problem solving presenting solutions to problems identified.

What you'll bring

  • Track record of effective stakeholder and customer service engagement and management.
  • Ability to communicate and present information effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities using sound engineering and financial judgement to determine optimal solutions.
  • Awareness and understanding of key business drivers and the external commercial context in which ScottishPower is operating.
  • Technical and operational experience in a relevant engineering leading role within a utility environment.
  • Ability to devise solutions to complex problems / challenges.
  • Developed skills with network analysis modelling tools.
  • As a minimum you will demonstrate: Engineering / Professional qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in a project development role.
  • Computer literacy.
  • SAP proficiency.
  • Commercial Awareness.
