The Implementation Manager will be responsible for delivering innovative technology solutions to the field and leading strategic improvement and enhancement projects that support and accelerate the successful deployment of smart metering solutions.

  • What you’ll be doing
  • Support the integration of new smart technology, managing the integration of new assets across Smart Field Services and across all partners
  • Shape the long-term Smart rollout, maintenance and replacement programmes
  • Identify opportunities for improvement within Smart and partners by interpreting complex data sets and working closely with the Smart Field Services Management Team
  • Delivery of improvement projects, focussing on process efficiency, performance enhancement and consistency, upstream with Meter Operator Parties (MOPs) and downstream with Customer Services
  • Lead regular governance meetings with senior management stakeholders at our smart meter MOPs, challenging areas of improvement opportunity and applying best practice from lessons learned with other metering partners
  • Support the Smart Metering Programme Director, Smart Field Services Director and Head of Technical Services in setting targets for the installers
  • Engage internal and external stakeholders to ensure service levels meet requirements
  • Develop and implement a process and systems improvement plan to define, track and quantify all metering procedural and system level improvements with agreed dates, financial, FTE and regulatory benefits
  • Ensure that adequate reporting and data management solutions are in place to support the delivery of new solutions
  • Detect and investigate problems, defects, risks and issues across departments, impacting the Metering Journey
  • Identify and deliver solutions impacting the Metering Journey e. g. Writing BRDs and the creation of CRs
  • What you’ll bring
  • Educated to HNC level or equivalent experience within a role related to the delivery of significant change, IT solution delivery or metering operations
  • Good understanding of Customer Business IT systems e. g. SAP / Meterflow / CRM / Ui5
  • Extensive experience in IT solutions delivery, project management or a related discipline involving the management of significant change, cross party project management, risk management or solution engineering
  • Knowledge of smart metering, metering operations and industry processes related to metering covering all aspects of data management, clerical processes, fieldwork, industry interfaces and smart technology
  • Comfortable with a rapidly changing environment and conflicting priorities where regular assessment of deliverables and management of dependent parties is required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including delivery of presentations to senior management, preparation and presentation of complex data in an easy-to-understand format and upskilling of peers on the new delivery of new system solutions
  • Ability to prioritise and deliver to agreed timescales and quality standards as specified in the systems improvement plan and meeting the needs and expectations of all internal and external parties
  • Proven track record in influencing senior internal stakeholders to maximise efficiency, reduce cost and mitigate risk throughout the delivery of significant changes
  • Expertise in reporting and data analysis, with proficiency across a variety of applications and platforms (e. g. Power BI, MS Office)
  • Minimum Criteria
