ScottishPower Renewables is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Head of AI & Business Transformation to establish and lead a new capability that will accelerate the adoption of AI and deliver meaningful business transformation across the organisation.
What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting to the Onshore Construction and Operations Director, this leadership role will be responsible for translating strategic ambitions into a prioritised portfolio of initiatives that enhance safety, operational performance, cost efficiency, governance and decision-making across the renewables asset lifecycle. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping how AI-enabled solutions and business process improvements are identified, delivered and embedded throughout the business. As Head of AI & Business Transformation, you will lead the development and execution of a multi-workstream transformation portfolio, driving change across operational and commercial functions. You will oversee initiatives from early-stage problem definition and business case development through to delivery, adoption and benefits realisation, ensuring that new capabilities create measurable and sustainable value. Working closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation, you will champion a culture of continuous improvement and help position ScottishPower Renewables for a digitally enabled future. The role requires a strong blend of strategic thinking, programme leadership and change management expertise. You will establish governance frameworks, delivery standards and portfolio management processes, ensuring effective prioritisation, risk management and executive reporting. At the same time, you will work collaboratively with technology, data, cyber security, legal, compliance and operational teams to ensure that AI solutions are designed and deployed responsibly, securely and in line with regulatory expectations. A key part of the position will be building and developing a high-performing AI & Business Transformation team while leveraging specialist partners and suppliers where appropriate. You will be accountable for an annual portfolio budget of approximately £1 million and will lead a growing function that supports transformation across a complex, safety-critical and highly regulated environment.
What You’ll Bring
We are looking for a proven transformation leader with experience delivering large-scale business change programmes and a track record of achieving measurable outcomes. You will bring a strong understanding of organisational change, operating model design and process improvement, alongside experience shaping and delivering AI, automation or data-enabled transformation initiatives. The ability to influence senior stakeholders, build consensus across diverse teams and communicate effectively at executive level will be essential to success in this role. Experience within renewables, utilities, infrastructure or another regulated industry is highly desirable, particularly where safety-critical operations and complex asset lifecycles have shaped transformation delivery. Candidates should also demonstrate strong commercial acumen, governance expertise and experience leading teams through periods of significant change. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and lead a strategically important function at the forefront of AI-enabled transformation, helping to deliver long-term value and support the future growth of ScottishPower Renewables.
