We are investing billions in the UK to modernise the grid, expand renewable generation and support the transition to Net Zero. Tax plays a critical role in enabling that investment.

We are now looking for a Corporate Tax Accountant to join our established in-house UK tax team, supporting corporate tax compliance, reporting and advisory activity across a large and complex group. This role offers the opportunity to work at scale within a supportive, collaborative tax function, contributing to meaningful work that underpins the delivery of major infrastructure and energy projects.

What you will be doing:

  • Support the delivery of corporate tax compliance and internal and external reporting for UK group companies.
  • Prepare corporation tax computations to ensure statutory and internal deadlines are met, supporting a portfolio of large UK entities within the Iberdrola Group.
  • Assist with the preparation of corporate and deferred tax provisions under IFRS for UK companies and subgroups, enabling timely sign off of statutory accounts and group reporting.
  • Work closely with internal finance teams and external auditors as part of year-end processes.
  • Respond to HMRC enquiries by delivering timely resolutions and helping reach satisfactory outcomes.
  • Provide practical tax input on ad-hoc queries from across the business, advising colleagues in finance, legal, regulation and business planning teams.
  • Support the review of investment proposals and business cases, ensuring tax issues are identified, appropriately modelled and addressed prior to submission to internal governance forums.
  • Assist with tax planning initiatives and transactions where required.

What you will bring:

  • Strong, demonstrable experience in corporate tax, ideally gained within a large, complex organisation or professional practice environment.
  • ATT-qualified (or equivalent), with a clear commitment to continuing your professional development either through working towards the CTA qualification or gaining further experience.
  • Good understanding of UK corporation tax compliance, reporting and governance.
  • Enthusiastic and confident applying your technical knowledge in a hands-on, in-house setting and comfortable dealing with a range of tax matters across the business.
  • Experience of deferred tax is desirable, although support and training can be provided.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, comfortable working to demanding deadlines, and contribute effectively as part of a collaborative, specialist tax team.

What is in it for you:

  • Competitive salary reviewed annually.
  • Annual bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
  • Pension scheme offers double matching of your contributions, up to a company contribution of 10%.
  • 36 days annual leave.
  • Holiday purchase scheme.
  • Share schemes.
  • Payroll giving and matched charity funding.
  • Technology vouchers.
  • Electric vehicle schemes.
  • Cycle to Work scheme and public transport season ticket loans.
  • Healthcare options including dental, private medical insurance and health cash plans.
  • Life assurance (4x salary).
  • Access to financial wellbeing support.
  • Retail, leisure, travel and gym discounts.
