With plans to see SP Energy Networks (SPEN), part of the ScottishPower Group, look to invest over £5bn in transmission projects across our transmission network in central and southern Scotland by 2030, the Transmission Stakeholder Engagement and Communications team will play a key role in supporting SPEN to work at pace to deliver the transmission network that is required to support ambitions Scottish and UK Government 2030 targets.
The Communications and Design Manager is a key role in the project team with responsibility for the development and delivery of a communication programme across the SP Energy Networks business and to wider stakeholders. The role is also responsible for the production and co-ordination of all supporting communication materials.
What you’ll be doing
- You’ll be creating and ultimately delivering a strategic stakeholder communications strategy for internal and external audiences, including employees, consumers and key influential stakeholders.
- You’ll champion the creation of standardised material to provide consistent messaging and narratives to selected target audiences.
- We want you to measure the effectiveness of communications - striving to continually improve and act on results and feedback.
- You’ll actively manage, develop, and maintain a range of communication channels (intranet, website, webinars, events, printed materials, videos, etc).
- Provide solutions and know-how ensuring the delivery of key messages to deliver a step change in how we communicate change across our organisation and to our external audience.
- Produce content for regulatory business plans and key submissions, key stakeholder publications, independent groups, stakeholder newsletters, internal / external Comms as required by the business.
- Work with design and marketing agencies as required.
- Work closely with other Communications colleagues to ensure communications present a consistent picture and include a link back to an overarching message strategy for the business.
- Measure the effectiveness of communications, striving to continually improve and act on results and feedback.
- Creation of promotional media such as videos, leaflets and beyond to support our vision and position for internal and external purposes.
- Support Project Director and Director with external facing materials as required supporting our position and key messages.
- Continually seek stakeholder feedback and commission research, analyse outputs and evaluate feedback from internal and external sources to support development and implementation of communication strategies for continual improvement.
- Support the development of communication skills, knowledge and behaviours across the RIIO2 team and the wider business.
