The H&S Advisor will support the Hatfield Site Manager and wider O&M team in delivering the safe, efficient, environmentally compliant, and economic operation and maintenance of the Hatfield Gas Storage Facility, that ensures plant availability is maximised whilst ensuring we operate within the constraints imposed by company policy and applicable statutory legislation.
What you'll be doing:
- Integrated Management Systems for Hatfield in accordance with ISO 18001 for health & safety management, Environmental Management System (ISO 14001) and Quality (ISO 9001:2000)
- COMAH Compliance
- Process Safety Management
- Monthly Business Plan reporting
- Risk Register Management
- Safe System of Work Compliance
- Business Continuity Management System
- EA Licence/Permit/Consent management
- Land Leases
- Stakeholder Management
- Management of IMS Plan for site ensuring that the approach is tailored for Hatfield and integrated for the Customer Business
- Assist in maintaining the Risk Assessment framework for Hatfield
- Development and delivery of an IMS audit plan and ensure that these are carried out timeously
- Responsible for Facilities Management on-site and engaging with SP General Services and appointed contractors
- Support the Hatfield Manager in leading the behavioural safety programme on-site
- Evaluating compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation, supporting the Hatfield Site Manager and site teams to deliver compliance
- Keep up to date with legislation with respect to driving towards world class H,S & E management
- Support line management on accident investigation and Panels of Inquiry
- Advise the Hatfield Site Manager and wider management team on best practice health, safety and environmental management, feeding into the Business Planning Process by setting objectives and associated targets
What you'll bring:
- Educated to a minimum HNC standard or equivalent vocational qualifications/experience
- Relevant experience in a Gas/Process plant, preferably in an operations role
- NEBOSH or IEMA certificate
- Ability to motivate and influence others and to create a positive working environment
- Articulate, self-assured and authoritative with a pleasant overall manner
- Lead by example, ensuring that all site personnel carry out their work in accordance with HS&E requirements
- Continuous improvement mindset within the role/personal development
Minimum Criteria:
- Health, Safety and Environmental experience
- NEBOSH or IEMA certification
- Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management both verbally and in written reports
- Enthusiastic and determined with planning and organisational skills
- Self-motivated with a flexible approach and an ability to prioritise own and others workload under pressure
- Computer literacy – e.g. Microsoft Office suite
- English Language Skills (Written and verbal)
- Holder of UK Driving License
