The Content Creator develops engaging, high‑quality content that supports the SP Transmission brand, messaging, and objectives across various regional projects. This role produces clear, creative, and consistent materials across digital platforms to inform, inspire, and connect with target audiences.
The role holder will create content that promotes awareness, knowledge and understanding of the project's role in achieving net zero targets in an engaging way. The role holder will collaborate with key stakeholders across SP supporting media, communications and corporate colleagues with bespoke content as/when required.
What you’ll be doing:
- Enhance the content proposition around projects to construct or upgrade electricity transmission lines and cables – primarily for online and social channels.
- Define what “best in class content” is for SP Energy Networks and make it happen by creating a strong pipeline of social/online content and compelling campaign content.
- Work closely with colleagues to identify interesting, new and relevant subject matter that meets customer, community and stakeholder needs.
- Monitor the performance of content and ensure we are continually improving through a focus on internal and external feedback and performance analytics.
- Plan, own and execute new content initiatives, benchmarking against the latest developments in content creation, social trends and focused on achieving communications objectives.
- Ability to grasp requirements quickly and translate these into clear and compelling content to meet business objectives.
- Help shape the voice and tone of projects for audiences of stakeholders and communities ensuring blog posts, web pages, media releases, video scripts will be compelling, informative and impactful.
- Support communications objectives for the full duration of the project lifecycle - Development/consenting/delivery - with useful and appropriate content.
What you’ll bring:
- Proven work experience in content creation, communication or digital journalist role.
- Ability to deliver within a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple initiatives and stakeholders at any point in time.
- Knowledge of online content strategy and creation.
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
- Strong video planning, filming and editing capabilities.
- Ability to research their related subject matter to deliver compelling content.
- Creativity and know-how to shape content for a range of social channels.
- Knowledge of CMS and social content/publication systems.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as delivering materials to support colleagues as required.
- Excellent time-management and organisational skills.
- Full UK Drivers Licence.
