Op Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst

**Salary:** £50-63K (plus up to 10% bonus, 15% pension and private healthcare)

**Location:** Glasgow (hybrid, 2-3 days in the office)

**Permanent, Full time**

Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate will need to be able to obtain NSV SC clearance – You will need to have lived continuously in the United Kingdom for a period of 5 years before being eligible to meet the Minimum Residency Criteria.

We are seeking a Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst to play a key role in strengthening and enhancing our cyber defence capabilities across operational technology (OT) and renewable energy environments. Working within the wider Corporate Cyber function, this position focuses on transforming internal and external threat intelligence into actionable insights that improve detection, response, and proactive security operations.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring the threat landscape, analysing emerging risks, and delivering timely intelligence that supports Security Operations Centre (SOC) activities, incident response, threat hunting, and detection engineering. You will assess adversary tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs), develop intelligence-led recommendations, and ensure that threat intelligence is effectively integrated into wider security operations, vulnerability management, and active defence programmes. You will work closely with SOC analysts, incident responders, detection engineers, OT security specialists, and external partners to enhance situational awareness and support informed decision-making. A key aspect of the role will involve assessing sector-specific cyber threats, including those impacting ICS and OT environments, as well as evaluating supply chain and third-party risks relevant to critical infrastructure and renewable energy operations.

What You’ll Bring

The successful candidate will contribute to compliance with CAF and NIS2 requirements by providing intelligence-driven analysis, evidence, reporting, and operational support. You will also help improve alert fidelity, triage quality, and threat detection effectiveness by translating intelligence into practical detection requirements and investigative use cases. This is an opportunity for an experienced cyber security professional with a background in threat intelligence, SOC operations, or detection analysis. You should have a strong understanding of the cyber threat intelligence lifecycle, attacker TTPs, SIEM technologies, threat hunting methodologies, and incident response processes. Experience supporting regulatory and security frameworks such as CAF, NIS2, NCSC guidance, or similar environments will be highly beneficial. Knowledge of OT security principles, ICS environments, IEC 62443, networking fundamentals, and detection engineering would be advantageous. Industry certifications such as GIAC GCTI, CySA+, GMON, or Security+ are welcomed. The role requires excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex threat information into clear, actionable outcomes for technical teams and stakeholders. You will be comfortable prioritising intelligence activities in a fast-paced operational environment and supporting time-sensitive investigations when required.
