We are hiring for a Head of Sales (Business Energy) to lead our multi‐channel B2B sales organisation and drive strategic growth across all segments.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the end‐to‐end sales strategy for Business Energy, ensuring alignment with ScottishPower’s commercial and sustainability objectives.
- Shape and develop new markets and growth opportunities, including low‐carbon and net‐zero propositions.
- Own and optimise multi‐channel sales performance across direct, broker, telesales and digital routes.
- Deliver annual revenue, margin and volume targets, ensuring robust pipeline management and forecasting.
- Lead senior‐level negotiations to secure strategic partnerships and large‐scale commercial agreements.
- Provide leadership and direction to managers and large professional teams, embedding a high‐performance culture.
- Develop departmental plans covering business priorities, resource planning and organisational capability.
- Act as the organisation’s expert voice on B2B energy sales, market trends and commercial strategy.
- Collaborate with Pricing, Product, Operations, Risk and Legal to deliver compliant, customer‐centric commercial outcomes.
- Ensure all sales activity meets regulatory requirements including Ofgem, data protection and industry standards.
- Lead major cross‐functional projects with broad organisational impact.
- Drive continuous improvement across sales processes, systems and customer experience.
- Represent ScottishPower externally to strengthen brand reputation and commercial influence.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven track record in B2B energy or complex solution sales with responsibility for large revenue lines.
- Experience leading multi‐channel sales organisations and delivering strong commercial results.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse performance data, market trends and customer insight.
- Demonstrated success in senior stakeholder management and influencing at executive level.
- Excellent leadership capability with experience developing high‐performing teams.
- Ability to drive transformation, embed change and deliver continuous improvement.
- Strong negotiation, communication and relationship‐building skills.
- Understanding of the energy transition, net‐zero solutions and emerging technologies.
- Confident decision‐making in a fast‐moving, competitive market environment.
Minimum Criteria
- Experience leading B2B sales teams in energy, utilities or a comparable complex commercial environment.
- Proven experience managing commercial contracts and external partners.
- Strong financial and business acumen with the ability to manage budgets and forecasts.
- Highly numerate with strong analytical capability.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with CRM, sales performance systems and forecasting tools.
