What you’ll be doing

  • The Community Manager Lead builds strong, two-way relationships between SPEN and the communities we serve. You’ll lead regional engagement, partnerships, and outreach activity—ensuring everything is aligned to business priorities and delivers meaningful social impact.
  • Coordinate SPEN’s presence at regional events (e.g. agricultural shows, Glasgow Warriors, Wrexham AFC)
  • Manage community sponsorships aligned to our values and local priorities
  • Deliver well-planned, engaging events with clear follow-up and visibility
  • Support school engagement and health & safety programmes (e.g. Crucial Crew, Young Farmers)
  • Deliver curriculum-linked sessions at SPEN venues (Safety Central, Risk Factory, Dangerpoint)
  • Build partnerships with schools, colleges, and education charities
  • Support Public Affairs activity, including stakeholder visits
  • Maintain engagement calendars and key relationship touchpoints
  • Support Engagement Champions to strengthen local communication
  • Provide data and insight to support social impact reporting
  • Work with DGMs to align activity to local priorities and influence planning
  • Develop charity partnerships and employee-led engagement opportunities
  • Capture case studies and support external communications (press, social, awards)
  • Log activity in Tractivity and contribute to reporting and insight summaries using standard tags, notes, and the INSIGHT > INPUT > IMPACT framework.

Minimum Criteria

  • Proven experience managing stakeholder relationships and coordinating outreach activity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting systems
  • Ability to capture and communicate insight clearly
  • Awareness of community engagement/social value principles
  • Full UK driving licence
