Help us create a better future, quicker
We are looking for a motivated AI Governance Analyst to support the delivery of responsible, compliant, and value-aligned AI adoption across our organisation. Working within the Digital Planning, Culture & Practices (DPCP) Strategy, this role sits within a hub-and-spoke model, offering the opportunity to partner closely with specific business areas while remaining aligned to a centralised AI governance function, reporting directly into the Data and AI Governance Lead.
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will help embed the organisation’s AI governance model into day-to-day business activities, supporting the monitoring of adherence to Responsible AI principles, identifying and managing AI-related risks, and acting as a key liaison between business areas and the central Data & AI Governance function. You will play an important role in enabling ethical, secure, and transparent AI solutions in line with global and local AI policies, regulatory requirements (including the EU AI Act), relevant guidance (from regulatory bodies such as Ofgem and ICO), and international standards (including ISO 42001). You will support the translation of governance requirements into clear, practical actions for business teams. This includes contributing to AI risk and ethics assessments, maintaining high-quality documentation, and supporting governance reporting and dashboards. You will also participate in relevant governance forums and committees, providing updates and insights while gaining exposure to broader organisational decision-making. Collaboration is central to this role. You will work closely with regulatory and technical stakeholders such as Cybersecurity, Data Protection, Compliance, Legal, Cloud, Architecture, Delivery and Development teams, helping to drive a consistent and effective approach to AI governance. You will also contribute to raising awareness across the business by supporting workshops, training sessions, and discussions that build understanding of AI risks, controls, and best practices.
What you’ll bring
This position is well-suited to someone with experience in cybersecurity, data protection, legal, risk management, compliance or a related field who is looking to deepen their expertise in AI and/or has work experience in this type of role in another sector. You should be comfortable working with frameworks and policies, supporting risk assessments, and producing clear, well-structured documentation. A foundational understanding of AI governance frameworks is important, alongside a commitment to continuously develop your expertise through relevant learning or qualifications. Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will be proactive, organised, and eager to learn, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute to a structured, consistent AI governance approach. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career in a rapidly evolving area, gaining hands-on experience in AI governance while supporting the responsible use of emerging technologies across the organisation.
