What you’ll be doing
- Working within the Central and Fife district team, you will report to the Head of Delivery and support the delivery of projects and programmes across the district, with an annual value of approximately £20m.
- Ensuring safe provision of activities in line with regulatory and license obligations.
- Delivering district business plan outputs while optimising return through incentive mechanisms.
- Delivery and management of varied technical construction projects on the HV and EHV networks safely and to time, cost and quality.
- Engaging with customers and stakeholders to support robust communication activities.
- Developing project plans to minimise outages and meet performance targets.
- Analysing outputs and feedback to support continual improvement.
- Integrating asset stewardship and ownership values through sound engineering principles.
- Promoting exemplary safety behaviours and ensuring compliance with safety legislation.
- Delivering maintenance, reliability, system performance, and network security business plan outputs.
- Managing connections business plan outputs to optimize profitability.
- Handling a portfolio of capital investment projects and regulatory outputs.
- Deliver new connection projects, including both demand and generation customers.
What you’ll bring
- Project/programme management experience.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and devise solutions.
- Knowledge of regulatory environment and incentive mechanisms.
- Knowledge of safety procedures, specifically CDM regulations and UK based electrical safety rules.
- Contract, commercial, and regulatory awareness with the ability to balance effective and efficient customer service and project delivery, ensuring maximum return on investment.
- Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders from across the business and wider industry.
- Manage all aspects of outage planning for your allocated projects, including preparing and executing emergency plans.
- Operate on the distribution network as an SAP at all voltages from LV to 33kV. Participate in an operational standby rota once authorised.
Minimum Criteria
- HNC, HND, degree, or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with at least three years of relevant experience.
- Experience within the construction and operations of electricity networks.
- Technical and operational experience in engineering.
- Relevant Senior Authorised Person status and knowledge of construction maintenance, and engineering standards up to 33kV (preferred but not essential).
- Computer literacy.
