Help us create a better future, quicker

We’re looking for an Agentic AI Developer to shape the next generation of autonomous AI systems. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of advanced reasoning, multi‑step orchestration, and enterprise‑grade integration. You’ll design and build AI agents capable of planning, taking action, and navigating complex workflows, using modern agentic frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel, and Python.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll work end‑to‑end on intelligent systems that go far beyond simple chat interfaces—developing agents that use tools, call functions, orchestrate processes, and connect seamlessly with enterprise platforms including CRM, ERP, Teams, and Moodle. Strong prompt engineering will be central to your work as you optimise performance, reliability, and accuracy across a range of use cases. A key part of the role involves managing and leveraging knowledge through vector databases, semantic search, and RAG pipelines, enabling agents to access and use information intelligently. You will also take responsibility for building safe and compliant systems, ensuring guardrails, access controls, and secure API interactions are in place. Collaboration is essential, and you’ll work closely with data engineers, ML engineers, and stakeholders to translate business needs into robust, scalable agentic solutions.

To succeed, you’ll bring strong Python expertise—alongside experience in C#, JavaScript, or Go if possible—and a solid grounding in GenAI, embeddings, and modern AI/ML concepts. Familiarity with Azure, AWS, or GCP, as well as microservices, APIs, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and vector search technologies such as Azure AI Search, will also be valuable. If you’re passionate about building autonomous AI systems that deliver real impact in enterprise environments, this is an opportunity to work at the forefront of a rapidly evolving field. Let’s build what’s next.

What’s in it for you

As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits. With our pension scheme, we’ll double match your contribution up to a company contribution of 10%. At ScottishPower, we believe it’s the little things we do in life that make a big difference. From helping you look after your family’s wellbeing, save for your future and take personal steps for climate action – our benefits are designed to help you do just that - so that you have everything you need to take care of your world – today and tomorrow. That’s why our benefits include:

  • 36 days annual leave
  • Holiday purchase – perfect your work/life balance with extra annual leave
  • Share Incentive Plan and Sharesave Scheme
  • Payroll giving and charity matched funding
  • Technology Vouchers – save more and spread the cost of your technology purchases
  • Count us in – pledge to reduce carbon emissions and help fight climate change
  • Electric Vehicle Schemes – to help you transition to green/clean driving
  • Cycle to Work scheme and public transport season ticket loans
  • Options to purchase dental insurance, private medical insurance, health cash plan and annual health assessments
  • Life Assurance (4x salary)
  • Access to ‘nudge’ financial wellbeing support
  • Plus shopping, leisure, restaurant and gym discounts, and unique employee deals on travel insurance and more
