The UK Government has mandated targets for the rollout of Smart Meters up to the end of 2025. This is one of the largest and most complex gas and electricity deployments in the world and presents unique challenges to the UK deployment of over 50m meters. Field Services provides installation and maintenance services through its Meter Operators for all Energy Retail customers, with c5m meters in the portfolio.
The Regional Lead will work as part of a team with the Smart Meter Operator Partners to optimise performance and resolve issues within their regional zone, which may impact the likelihood of achieving regulatory targets.
What you’ll be doing:
- Support the Smart Meter Operator Partners in all areas of performance with a view to meeting agreed targets. A close working relationship is required with the Smart Meter Operator Partners and working on their premises will sometimes be required.
- Drive industry leading performance from our Meter Operator Partners, through assimilating wider plans into successful delivery in your region, analysis of their operations and close management of KPIs, with particular focus on:
- Aborted jobs
- Appointment generation
- Engineer efficiency
- Stock control
- Health & safety
- Guaranteed standard failures
- Customer complaints
What you’ll bring:
- Creating and delivering plans, to meet and exceed performance measures and business objectives.
- Good knowledge of Energy Retail value chain to identify and anticipate issues for the wider business from any metering related activity. In addition, have the business network to work with the wider business on any issues.
- An ability to retrieve and collate data from various sources and provide meaningful reports.
- Be able to build sound working relationships with all internal customers and develop strong commercial relationships with external parties.
- Design, implement and maintain reports.
- Ability to drive forward projects and solutions within tight timescales.
- Well-developed influencing and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels within organisations.
- Sound understanding of the commercial environment and ability to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and to take risk balanced decisions.
- Proven ability to generate continuous improvement in daily operations.
Minimum Criteria:
- HNC / HND or equivalent in business or management, or relevant work experience.
- Ability to identify and implement change.
- Ability to manage a range of complex relationships both internally and externally, often against a backdrop of conflicting aims and priorities.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Good facilitation and presentation skills.
- Sound understanding of the commercial environment.
- Proven ability to generate continuous improvement in daily operations.
