The Health & Safety Support Coordinator role aims to support the wider team build of H&S Consultant, Seniors and Advisors who provide professional advice to direct and guide multiple Project Teams. This ensures the delivery of multiple multi-million pound energy construction projects and that client interface activities remain a primary focus along with proactive monitoring, reviewing, and reporting on performance.

As part of the SPT Projects Health and Safety Team the role will ensure the successful integration of departmental and Group Health and Safety policies, programs, and processes in support of operational excellence, legal compliance, and safe working practices.

What you’ll be doing

  • Create, maintain and continue development of H&S Databases such as Power BI
  • Assist with performing and meet Health and Safety monitoring targets (inspections, incidents and KPI data)
  • Contribute and deliver Health and Safety initiatives projects and agreed deliverables.
  • Proactively influence and engage with internal and external stakeholders with a view to improving Health and Safety performance.
  • Prepare monthly reports including data collection and analysis
  • Prepare Contractor reports for dissemination to the wider business
  • Develop opportunities for best-practice exchanges across the business including regular facilitation of workshops and meetings.
  • Assist with the promotion, development and review of projects which support the delivery of the health and safety policy and strategy.
  • Organise meetings and working groups including minute taking and action tracking
  • Assist with the management, gathering and reporting on H&S KPIs supporting the governance and assurance of H&S
  • Pro-actively benchmark internally and externally to improve SPT H&S performance from e.g., latest process and procedures to latest technologies.
  • To prepare communications that will be issued business wide in relation to H&S matters such as incidents and investigations
  • Manage project trackers ensuring information is correct and accurate
  • To prepare and deliver H&S communications, where required
  • Pro-actively attend site, shadowing other Consultants and Advisors in the team, for potential progression
