ScottishPower will undergo a rationalisation of its property portfolio which will include the closure of existing owned and leased properties and the construction and fit out of new properties to meet the needs of the business. As part of the 10-year CAPEX Investment Strategy, you will play a key role in developing proposals from inception to completion to ensure that the upgrade of our property portfolio delivers modern, fit-for-purpose working environments with sustainability at the core of our designs and specifications.
We need to hire Senior Project Manager(s) to support us deliver these major projects and lead on managing the full project lifecycle to ensure our projects are delivered on time, within budget and with safety at the forefront. This includes the acquiring of resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver property projects according to the plan.
What you’ll be doing:
- Establish a delivery strategy for each of your projects, providing technical oversight, governance and guidance to your team, to ensure each project is properly controlled and will be delivered successfully.
- Develop a detailed project plan to track progress, measure project performance, ensure resource availability and allocation is fit for purpose, as well as manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs and associated risks.
- Coordinate the efforts of project teams and third-party contractors to deliver a wide range of projects and scopes.
- Be a trusted advisor to senior managers on all building related property project management matters and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with project sponsors and all involved in the project, as well as effectively manage stakeholder expectations through clear communications and regular progress updates.
- Produce metrics and reporting on performance and report and escalate areas of success and concern to senior management where appropriate.
What you’ll bring:
- Degree educated with a qualification in a construction-related discipline.
- Experienced project manager with industry-recognised qualifications (e.g., APC, APM or PMI).
- Knowledge of construction related disciplines, FM, H&S Management and CDM Regulations.
- Able to manage several concurrent projects simultaneously ensuring the optimum level of support and resource at all times.
- Can effectively prioritise and execute tasks in high pressure environments.
- Knowledge of change and risk management processes including financial and budget management of major projects.
- Experience of statutory approvals process and requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to influence and negotiate at all levels of stakeholders.
- Proven relationship management and team management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to ensure all project risks are known and understood by all.

- Flexibility to work out-with normal working hours regularly to deal with planned workload or in response to emergency plans/business continuity/disaster recovery.
