The Scottish Power Customer Business provides energy to millions of households and businesses across the UK offering fair pricing and a choice of tariffs to suit customer needs. In addition, the Business offers products that help customers control and protect the energy in their homes and the flexibility to help customers manage their energy accounts today, tomorrow and in the future which are all under the management of the Smart Solutions department in which this role is based.
Reporting to the Senior Revenue Growth & Propositions Manager as the Revenue Growth & Propositions Consultant you will support the development of updated or new propositions to maximize overall revenue and profit through data-driven insights and optimization of pricing, product mix, and channels.
Working across home energy services, low carbon technology and home energy management you work to launch and manage business cases across project or proposition lifecycles within defined channels
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll support the Revenue Growth and Propositions Manager in taking projects from initial concept through to launch and into business-as-usual. You’ll contribute to research, business case development, and launch planning, while also helping to monitor performance and ensure delivery aligns with commercial goals.
You’ll be responsible for identifying and completing a wide range of tasks to support project success—whether that’s running reports, conducting desk research, analysing commercial data, modelling scenarios, or summarising market insights in collaboration with channel leads.
Working closely with internal teams and third-party suppliers, you’ll help manage and monitor project costs and revenues, identifying opportunities for efficiency and escalating risks where needed. You’ll also play a key role in progressing launch plans, tracking timelines, and communicating updates across the business.
Once projects are live, you’ll monitor product performance and key KPIs—particularly during proof-of-concept phases—ensuring we stay on track and learn quickly. You’ll stay informed on market trends and competitor activity, identifying new technologies or customer needs.
You’ll also support interactions with service providers during the development and implementation of new propositions and ensure governance documentation is in place to support robust reporting and delivery.
Finally, you’ll contribute to post-launch analysis, measuring outcomes against original objectives, and work closely with Senior Revenue Growth Managers and global insight teams to generate ideas and make recommendations for future revenue opportunities.
Skills and Requirements
You will bring experience in delivering projects on time, along with strong influencing and negotiation skills across all levels.
You’ll have detailed knowledge of Smart Solutions and the wider UK utilities industry, as well as an appreciation of the challenges involved in developing and implementing new products and services.
Experience working with external partners and suppliers is essential and you will be confident building effective relationships across the business and capable of working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
A solid understanding of commercial foundations within energy propositions and regulatory environments is important, along with experience in customer research, setting successful test criteria, and interpreting data to inform decision-making.
