Salary up to £103,000 per year, with a strong benefits package including a 30% Annual Bonus (performance related), Private Healthcare (Family) - plus a month Car Allowance.

As Head of Control Support and Quality, you'll be at the heart of the SPM network, orchestrating the systems that ensure electricity flows seamlessly from generation to homes and businesses. This pivotal leadership position safeguards the reliability, efficiency, and integrity of our energy delivery, driving performance across control support and quality functions. What you will be doing

  • Lead emergency planning and business continuity for the Control Room, ensuring SPM is ready to respond during high-risk network events and national power outages.
  • Develop and drive restoration strategies to reconnect over 2 million customers after a total GB shutdown.
  • Collaborate with government bodies, regulators, and industry leaders to represent SPM in national forums.
  • Oversee quality assurance across the OCC team, ensuring accurate data and system integrity.
  • Guide Control, Support, and Quality teams in planning, performance.
  • Manage real-time system interfaces to maintain compliance and operational readiness.
  • Coach and develop a skilled engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Champion change to boost customer service and productivity across the network.

What you will bring

  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and drive performance.
  • Strong background in emergency management and crisis response.
  • Solid understanding of compliance frameworks and regulatory standards.
  • Broad operational insight across Distribution, Transmission, or ideally Generation.
  • A commitment to delivering results without compromising safety, quality, or customer service.
  • In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Expertise in network and business data systems, including SCADA network management.
