SP Energy Networks have forged a long-lasting partnership with the Glasgow Warriors as their official Community Partner. This allows us the opportunity to work together to help support and engage across the communities we serve through various activations and initiatives. Through this partnership it has become clear the synergies that can be drawn from sport and applied to business which has allowed us to work on joint initiatives such as encouraging females into sport/engineering, effective teamwork, life skills, STEM and charity days. The partnership also allows us to engage differently with some of our harder to reach stakeholders and deliver our key messages.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting the Stakeholder Engagement Manager in the management of our successful 10-year community partnership with Glasgow Warriors.
  • Building a close working relationship with Glasgow Warriors as their Community Partner and main shirt sponsor.
  • Providing assistance in the organisation of events or match day activities, including all associated logistics such as guest lists, invitations, logistics, set-up, catering and reservations.
  • Responding to any enquiries regarding the community partnership, ensuring that accurate responses are provided promptly.
  • Ensuring contracts and agreements are accurate and contain all the relevant information pertaining to the partnership.
  • Processing ticket allocations and ensuring accurate and timely communication to recipients.
  • Supporting any procurement requirement to activate the partnership including the timely payment of external administrators and agencies, recording spend and raised Purchase Orders.
  • Logging and tracking impact from joint work, along with capturing Key Stakeholders – tracking milestones and ensuring these are met.
  • Ensuring that stakeholders details are captured in Stakeholder system (Tractivity).
  • Providing support and the preparation of packs for Governance, panels’ sessions or events.
  • Developing and co-creating impactful community activation events and activities, which make a real difference to our local community.
  • Building a sound knowledge of the club and the partnership, to gain a strong understanding of outcomes and support required.
  • Supporting the development and delivery of a clear stakeholder and communications plan.
  • Working with external PR agency in the development of the communications plan and the implementation of this plan.
  • Responsibility for all partnership internal and external communications, including newsletters, e-bulletins and relevant webpages, as well as fulfilling all internal reporting requirements.
  • Working with the communications team to facilitate messaging for social media communications across multiple channels, including X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube.

What you’ll bring:

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to form effective working relationships with other individuals, departments and businesses.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a team environment.
  • Degree level in a relevant business discipline or have relevant business experience.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office packages and SAP.
  • Excellent Planning & Organising skills.
  • A customer centric approach.
  • Desirable: An understanding of the UK utilities market.
  • Previous experience within project delivery.
  • Understanding of, or interest in, community partnerships or rugby.
  • Ability to generate innovative solutions in the regulatory context.
  • Understanding of stakeholder mapping.
  • Experience across both external and internal communications is desirable.
  • Creative problem solver and have some understanding of complex regulated businesses.
  • High verbal reasoning, verbal comprehension and numeric skills.
  • Excellent team working skills.
  • Highly creative, coupled with ability to monitor/evaluate.
  • The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Well-developed Influencing and negotiation skills.
